QUILTING TIP - Monday, May 16, 2005

Store Your Rulers in Plain Sight

Carol M of S. Orange, NJ uses kitchen and office products to organize her sewing room.

I use kitchen lid racks to hold my quilting rulers, etc. They are inexpensive and have plenty of room for many different items. I went to Bed Bath & Beyond yesterday and saw a wire organizer that would be perfect for this purpose. It was $7.99.

I just bought a Rubbermaid organizer at Wal-mart for $9.99. The Rubbermaid product is the Jumbo Incline sorter for letters /A4 documents. The product number is RUB96600. It can hold many items and, since the organizer is clear, you can see through the organizer easily. In order to stabilize the organizer, I attached the RUB96600 to a board with screws. This gives it weight and stability to stand upright.

Thanks for sharing your storage ideas. I can use a little organization in my studio. .
