Quilter's Review Sampler
#216 - December 26, 2005
Piecing It All Together
As we come to the end of another year, I looked back to see what I have accomplished in 2005. I've completed all my commission projects. I've made some quilts for family, for fund-raisers and for charity that made people very happy. I've used some clever new notions, computer software, and fabulous sewing machines. I've read many good books, some excellent. I've met lots of new people, both on the Internet and in person. I've learned a lot while publishing Quilter's Review. I helped my daughter and grandsons move from Florida to New Hampshire. I have to say that this was a very good year. I can hardly wait to see what 2006 will bring.
In this issue, I review the next best thing to a pack mule for taking your quilting supplies with you, EZ Quilting's tote. I've tested a product for a design wall that was cheaper but is it really worth it? Read my review on Carpet Gripper.
In the next issue of Quilter's Review Sampler due out on January 9th, you can read our picks for the best products for 2005. Until then, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

P.S. Need to make an easy, charming gift? My Charming Houses wall quilt pattern is a great way to assemble a quaint village scene using fusible web applique and 6" charms from your stash. You'll love the look -- see it here -- and making it couldn't be more fun!
PRODUCT REVIEW
Organize Your Travels
Carpet Gripper is a piece of fabric that looks like batting that is sticky on both sides. It holds carpets and smaller rug in place so they don't slipping on the floor. I found this product in Home Depot and wondered if it would work as a design wall covering. It's comes in many sizes, made in the USA, environmentally friendly, and has the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.
I put it up on my wall of my studio and stuck my works in progress to it. Unfortunately, all my work kept falling off. Then the Carpet Gripper fell off the wall. It's fine for horizontal surfaces but it doesn't seem to work well on vertical surfaces. Save your money and get the Quilter's BlockButler instead.
